The Vocational Institution of Asesewa Ghana West Africa is now opened!
A shout of congratulations goes out to the first ever class of CCIM dressmaking in Asesewa, Ghana West Africa. On July 5, 2010 the first 6 girls started school. It was a long time coming, but our God is faithful. A brief opening ceremony was held with Dignitaries, Clergy, and the parents in attendance. We praise God for the manifestation of His promise. Hallelujah!
On this page, we plan to keep you informed. The girl child in Africa does not have first place in the hearts and minds of the people or the government. Things are changing. More and more organizations are crying out to stop the injustices being done to the female. Note: Boys will be accepted in the near future, but was not in the initial class.
CCIM needed your help to make this happen and you came thru. We solicitied sponsors as entry to the school has been free. Sponsorships was $325.00 USD. In this sponsorship, the students were supplied with 2 uniforms ( including 1 pr. shoes, 2 pr socks), 1 hygiene kit, ( toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, 2 pr underwear), 1 sewing kit (scissors, tape measure, needles, etc.) and school supplies. A sewing machine was also purchased for the young student to use. Further information was sent to the sponsor. CCIM was approved with NGO status in Ghana and this has helped move things along faster, we hoped.
This project is part of preaching the gospel to every creature. Additionally, the students were instructed in writing and reading English. The excitement was building and when you know that you are helping to change someone's future, your heart should be pounding faster also.
Thank you for traveling this road with me, it only takes everyone doing something. You may have limited funds; but if you will join others in sponsorship, some young lady or young man will be able to come off of the streets. E-mailfor more information.
